Step by agonizing step he plodded, paws dragging along the rain dampened ground as he made his way towards home. The rain fell around him, pitter-pattering it's way through the canopy to dampen the downy blanket of leaves below, creating a suitable backdrop to the dark thoughts wandering aimlessly through his mind. Each hobbling movement sent pain raging through his body, stars collecting at the corners of his vision and eyes squinted against the rain that dribbled in occasional rivers down his face; tinted pink from the bloodied wounds gouged across his muzzle. His shoulder refused to move properly, for the wound Caligula had inflicted laid it open nearly to bone; he dragged his left leg along, leaving a distinct swath in the leaves. Chehalis paused, breathing heavily from the pain and exhaustion that such a walk was taking on his battered body. He needed to get back to his den, to lie down and send someone to find Accolon -- anyone, that could help.

A shuddering breath wracked his lungs and his legs gave out, crumpling to the ground and his bed of leaves. His wounds screamed for mercy, the cut across the shaggy part of his throat gathering a bit of dirt and other debris from his fall and sending exceedingly sharp pains racing to his brain and back at record time. The great beast had won, and he the loser left to die on his bed of autumnal leaves. Chehalis closed his eyes with a soft sigh, sullying his nerves with the gentle serenade of the rain and the cool water beating against his skin. A moments rest, no longer.

---

Beneath the snow, something stirred. First came a nose, then a muzzle, followed by the tawny head of Whisper's Nurzhan. Blinking away the flakes that clung to his face, he squirmed a bit to free his shoulders, and thrust a foreleg out to give him leverage. After his romp with his nephew, niece and sister, Chehalis had retired to sleep away his fatigue under a snow laden pine. Another flurry had swept across the Valley, dumping another few inches on the Forest and adding to the drift that enclosed his quarters, and making it rather difficult for the bleary leader. Regardless, he pushed on, finally shoving through the heavy snow to stand squarely on all four feet — bracing, he dislodged the excess snow with a quick shake, and moved off through the Forest.

Today was different, and like Love, he wasn't privy to human celebrations. But it was there, in the air, and in the music of the forest that he often turned a keen ear to. There, beyond the blowing snow, was the carols that sent an otherworldly hum vibrating through the woodland. But beyond that, he heard the distant sound of laughter; of elation, of teenage romance. Chehalis stirred, his heart moved with it for a brief moment before letting the tiny dancers swirl away — and in that moment he took a pause to remember Kiriana. Lifting his tufted chin, he stared up at the falling snow, and gave a nod in honor of her memory.

But that was not his world anymore, and just as soon as he'd turned his nose up, he soon turned forward and broke out into a rolling lope. Today, he let his heart lead him home — to Love. Each time his paw connected to the snow with a crunch, his smile grew. For each one brought him closer. And on this night, this night of nights that sparked with the magic of winter, he wanted nothing more than to be with her. By the time he ascended the rise, a fire-warmed grin was dimpling his cheeks.

There, wreathed by the snow, was his world.

Effortlessly he swept down to her, reaching down to gently press his nose to her soft, sweet-furred ear. "Evenin'," He murmured, tail swinging idly as he pulled back, and stretched across the ground so he could lie parallel to her. The snow clouds were illuminated by the setting sun — blooms of grayscale pink, purple and gold. Chehalis sat in silent reverence of one part nature, and the rest of the lady that lie beside him.

Ignore this, posting for a friend to see.

Holy...

As some of you may or may not know, I'm a World of Warcraft fan. I wouldn't go so far as to say addict but I do enjoy the game a fair bit. Rob had to leave early tonight so that left me with a good five hours of "me time". So, as I usually do, I went to look for a movie to entertain myself. Figuring I would find some sort of cinema flick, I was surprised to find a review about this WoW movie done by a blogger and fellow druid friend of mine. Since I was hunting for some entertainment, I clicked the link and began to watch the first part of this trilogy.

I was hooked almost instantly. Not because it dealt with a hobby of mine but because it was amazingly well-written with an awesome script and also, even though the first part seemed experimental, it still left you begging for more as each second passed. The character development was so spot on and stayed consistent throughout the entire trilogy even though the entire series took over three years to complete. It was all done by a single director working "three hours each night" on it (the editing mostly which was 50% of the series itself). He also had an amazing cast, wonderful voice actors and music that really helped move the story along. While it wasn't original music (the majority of it being from PotC, Gladiator and a small bit of Lord of the Rings) it still fit remarkably well and didn't tear any focus away from the plot.

Like I mentioned, the first movie was more experimental in which it lacked the voice acting it's predecessors have and it also had a bit of, I guess you could say, inexperianced camera work. Though, when you think about it, Warcraft didn't have many fancy add-ons you could download to do all that for you; it all had to be done by hand. Regardless, the amount of work put into it was noticable and the sheer scale of the movie had a big screen feel; there were over 500 individual characters involved, from the Horde and Alliance. Even with it's faults, it was still able to lay down the story and stay consistant throughout which leads us to the second part:

Tales of the Past II picked up about a month (storyline wise) after the first one left off and when I mean pick up, I mean it gained everything the first lacked and fixed the flaws that the first one had. Most noticeable was the voice acting, all of which seemed to fit the characters well. Though one thing, they seemed to stumble a bit with the dwarven Scottish accents and the more American accents as well for the Tauren; mind you this was filmed and created on a UK server with a guild from said server which contains folks from all over Europe. So, as to be expected, accents tended to clash. Regardless, this movie was definitely a step up from the first and the story still left you begging for more and wondering, "What's gonna happen next?" Or weep uncontrollably. Of course, I won't give away why for the sake of the few who might be interested but yes, it is considered a drama. :P

The third film, Tales of the Past III... I really can't think of enough words or phrases to describe how unbelieveably mind-blowing this film was. It was an hour and 45 minutes long (just as long as any feature length film you'll see in theaters; and keep in mind, this is still all done by hand using a variety of tools on the director's computer) and at no point did it slow down. The scenes were always changing and with each scene change brought new ideas or connected already established ones which made for an extremely engaging plot. The voice actors seemed to really get the hang of their characters and the accents they needed to portray, especially the main Dwarf (can't remember his name for the life of me at the moment, it's somewhat complicated). The pacing of this was also greatly improved upon and believe me, it never slows down to the point where you find yourself wanting to skip some parts; definitey doesn't happen. The character development was also outstanding and made for great conversation and interaction between the various characters; my personal favorite was Blazer (it's the accent, seriously) but Rexxar and the main dwarf come in a close second.

Overall, my favorite thing about the trilogy as a whole was the character consistancy. If something happened that directly affected a character (death, for a vague example) the original character wouldn't just shrug it off and continue on with whatever his character's direction was, it would actually affect him or her as a whole. Take for example Blazer: something happens in the movies that affects him greatly and you can see a change in him (in his mind, the way he acts and the way his character looks on screen). His whole demeanor changes and that, for me, is what makes movies good movies. Consistent character development. And, of course, a good plot which this movie has. It's even easily followed by people who haven't played or heard of the Warcraft storyline before.

This is an amazing trilogy and I recommend it to anyone who is looking to waste a good three to four hours of their life for some good flick-age.

A fair warning though, the third movie is about 2gigs and it took a long time for the steam to fully load all of it. So if you don't have a fast computer, I would suggest to try and download it rather than stream it.

Tales of the Past (1, 2 and 3)

Near -- Myth III

It began in November of 2004. While there were a great number of realistic wolf RPGs floating about online, there was something missing. Then came Myth, a wolf RPG with a new elements of fantasy and a number of intriguing twists.

Four very different races of wolves evolved after the fall of four powerful stars to the planet Elementum. Each race, or Kinspecies as they’re commonly referred to, developed qualities unique to their namesake star.

There are the fiery Igniskin, the winged Aerkin, the mysterious Irrigokin and the peaceful Terrakin. Four species, all trying to coexist with the others while forming their own thriving packs.

The earliest versions of this popular RPG have left us behind, but now we find ourselves in a vast, sweeping country far from the original settings of Liberwave Peninsula and Darkloven Nation.

Gone is the interspecies cooperation of Myth’s second coming and today we have Kinspecies tension re-visited. And now unique to Myth III is a variety of subKinspecies that add to the deep intrigue of these fresh, rolling lands. Welcome to the third incarnation of Myth; to peace and war; to secrets and obscurity – welcome to Near.

Near — Myth III

Joiinnn iiittt. :D <3
I'm Argent on there, Kinleader of Empyrean Falls. Yeah, everyone go join now. :)
